Do you know whats one the the most highest health risk to Americans? Obesity! That's right, obesity.... Americans are getting fatter and fatter. The last generation might live longer then the current one despire new medical advancements and technology just because the fact that Americans are eating more, and eating less healthier. Grandpa's are going to be telling their grandchildren about this epidemic. We need to take action now. You can start yourself. The simplest way to prevent obesity is to limit calorie intake, choose healthier foods, and to get considerable exercise. If you do that, obesity is just a leaf that got raked away. It's not a threat. However, how many Americans do you see with a piece of broccoli in their hand running down the street. Not enough!!

Blood Pressure The Silent Killer

You've probably been to the doctors for a physical and had it done. A doctor wraps a cuff around your arm and checks it. But whens the last time you have had it checked? First let me explain what blood pressure is. Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Your blood pressure consists of two numbers your systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number). Normal blood pressure is when the systolic number is less then 120 and the diastolic number is less then 80. Hypertension is the medical term for high blood pressure. Prehypertension is borderline to high blood pressure. When your systolic number is 120-130 its borderline high and when your diastolic number is 80-90 its border line high too. When your systolic number goes over 130 and when your diastolic number goes over 90 you have hypertension (high blood pressure). This is often called the silent killer because high blood pressure often has no symptoms and therefore can prove very deadly if not fatal. So my tip for today is to go to your doctor or even your local walmart (they have blood pressure devices free to the public) and have your blood pressure cheked! It's easy and not time consuming. If you have high blood pressure, talk to your doctor on how to lower it. Ultimately, it could save your life!
